Meet The Owner
Hi, I'm Anthony Tote. Welcome to my automotive dealership and service center, Driveline Motors, Llc., located here in Schenectady, New York. As a small business owner, I strive to provide my customers with competitively priced, well-maintained used vehicles that suit both their lifestyle and budget. As a life-long gearhead I take great pleasure in knowing that my service and repair team provides customers with professional, affordable automotive care worthy of their trust. When you grow up surrounded by the automotive industry like I did, you know what it takes to build and maintain a quality automotive center.
Some of my earliest memories involve the auto repair business. Many of them are of the family listening my dad, Anthony Tote, Sr., over dinner talking about his long work day at his garage. Others are of me getting dirty in the shop while playing with his greasy tools. (Those were some really great days!) I did most of my growing up in and around the automotive industry. In some ways I guess you could even say cars are in my blood - that my future was predetermined. I now work as the Head Mechanic/Manager at my father's garage, Tony's Broadway Auto Repair. Read on for a little more of my history prior to independently starting Driveline Motors, Llc.
In 2000, as a Junior in high school I enrolled in the Automotive Program at Albany Career and Technical School. After my first semester there, I was included in a select group of students with exceptional progress and understanding in the course work who were placed in the General Motors ASE Program. The General Motors ASE Program is an advanced, fast-paced, highly hands-on program for promising students like myself with exceptional automotive service and repair skills. Taking those college-level courses during Senior Year gave me a jump-start toward earning my Associates Degree in Occupational Studies from Hudson Valley Community College. By the age of 19, I was already working full-time paid apprenticeship position.
For the next several years after graduation, I worked full-time as an Automotive Technician for several different franchise car dealerships before eventually joining the team at Tony's Broadway Auto Repair. At Tony's, I was blessed with the opportunity to work with some of the top technicians in the field, gaining valuable automotive training. After learning so much Theory in college, putting that knowledge to work and refining my skills in the field with the guidance of such skilled and experienced professionals was a huge privilege. I consider the Technician's at Tony's as my mentors. They took their time with me. Thanks to their patience with me and their drive to do quality work, I transformed my education into hands-on success.
The valuable educational and technical experience I have gained up to this point in my life has allowed me to develop exceptional professional automotive service and repair skills. I get up everyday and put those skills to work for my customers. The combination of my automotive family background and extensive automotive training and shop experience that gives me an advantage over so many other used car dealers. I know exactly what to look for when selecting mechanically sound vehicles for my sales lot so I can offer my customers some of the most reliable, well-maintained used vehicles in the region.
